Far Mills and Mysterytag created the hidden object game Hope Lake. You play Kelly Wells, a private investigator tasked with solving the case of the most recent bizarre kidnapping involving a young girl.

The game's presentation is truly unique, and it shouts its goal at you: take me seriously. Now that you are looking for your family's lost artifact, this is no longer a joyous journey; rather, you are delving deep into a criminal inquiry.
This is effectively demonstrated on the title screen alone: A woman who doesn't seem too healthy is bound to a boat, and it is obviously your duty to save her. The tone is gloomy and the color scheme is dark and dreary. Given that you are given to an initial cutscene with a 3D animation showing the kidnapping when you press play, this is one of the most animated Hidden Object games you can discover.
The majority of the game is displayed in 2D, but there are many key situations that are drawn in three dimensions, which really draws the player into the story. The art direction is simply wonderful, and it is there throughout the entire game.
Simple point-and-click hidden item gameplay!
The gameplay is not overly difficult, especially if you have already played a Hidden Object game. You move between screens looking for helpful things to unlock new sections and solve puzzles, much like in old-school point-and-click adventure games.
Some pieces of a puzzle are just the keys to it, while others are necessary to even begin it. Finding every item on a list will be the minigame you play the most, and finding them all will earn you something helpful for your goal. But there are also various varieties of puzzles for you to enjoy, and they are all rather different.
In order to preserve the quality of the gaming experience, the game drastically reduces the amount of idle time. You can fast travel, for instance, to any unlocked areas in the game by opening the map. As a result, if you find the key to a cage that is ten screens away, you don't actually need to walk there by hand if you don't want to.
The game also makes coding-related challenges simpler. There is a small piece of paper that gives you the code that gets there when you find a certain code for a location and visit it. Kelly probably pasted the code there, so it is simple to presume that she did, saving us from having to memorize or record anything.
Be very logical when solving these problems!
The majority of the puzzles in this game have logical solutions because it is a grounded game. Other games may place you in a surreal environment that calls for logical leaps; this is not one of those games.
Although there are some peculiar riddles and solutions (this is typical of detective games), everything makes sense and is simple to understand in the context of this world. The game contains a hint system that you can rely on if you ever get stuck, and most problems can be avoided entirely.
Even though you should complete the entire game, you shouldn't let a single puzzle frustrate you to the point where you can't fully appreciate the narrative.
